Your Age in Months
Free Age in Months Calculator
This free age in months calculator helps you calculate how old you are in total months using your date of birth. It is useful for parents, school forms, daycare records, medical forms, and anyone who needs age shown in months.
How to Calculate Age in Months
Select your birth date, birth month, and birth year. The calculator compares your date of birth with today's date and shows your completed years, months, days, and total age in months.
Why Use an Age in Months Calculator?
Some forms and records require age in months instead of only years. This is especially common for babies, toddlers, school admissions, pediatric visits, and child development tracking.
Common Uses
- Find your total age in months.
- Calculate baby age in months.
- Check age in months for school or daycare forms.
- Calculate age from date of birth in months and days.
Worked Example
A baby born on 14 March 2025 is 18 months and 23 days old on 7 October 2026. The calculator counts a new month on the same day each month (the 14th), and uses the last day of the month when a month is shorter, so a baby born on 31 January turns one month old on 28 February.
Months to Years Conversion
| Age in months | Age in years |
|---|---|
| 12 months | 1 year |
| 18 months | 1½ years |
| 24 months | 2 years |
| 30 months | 2½ years |
| 36 months | 3 years |
| 48 months | 4 years |
| 60 months | 5 years |
Why Babies' Ages Are Given in Months
In the first two years, babies change quickly, so doctors, growth charts and developmental checklists all use months. A 13-month-old and a 23-month-old are both "one year old" but are at very different stages. Most parents switch to years somewhere between 24 and 36 months.
Typical Well-Child Checkup Ages (U.S.)
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends regular checkups at these ages. Use the calculator to see exactly when your child reaches each one:
| Age | Typical focus |
|---|---|
| Newborn | 3–5 days, then 1 month |
| 2, 4 and 6 months | Early infancy checkups, usually with vaccines |
| 9 and 12 months | Crawling, standing, first words |
| 15 and 18 months | Walking and early language |
| 24 and 30 months | Toddler development and speech |
| 3 years and older | Yearly checkups |
