Estimated Due DateFree IVF Due Date Calculator
This free IVF due date calculator estimates your expected delivery date based on your embryo transfer date (day 3 or day 5) or your egg retrieval date. Because IVF pregnancies have precisely known key dates, this calculator can be more accurate than one based on your last menstrual period.
IVF due dates use the egg retrieval date as the equivalent of ovulation. From a day 5 blastocyst transfer, we add 261 days. From a day 3 transfer, we add 263 days. From an egg retrieval date, we add 266 days, which is the standard 280-day pregnancy length minus the roughly 14 days between the last period and ovulation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is an IVF due date calculated?
IVF due dates use the known date of egg retrieval or embryo transfer instead of estimating ovulation from your last period. For a day 5 blastocyst transfer, we add 261 days to the transfer date. For a day 3 transfer, we add 263 days. From an egg retrieval date, we add 266 days.
Is an IVF due date more accurate than one based on my last period?
Yes, generally. Because the egg retrieval and fertilization dates are precisely known in IVF, dating is typically more accurate than an estimate based on the first day of your last period, which relies on assumptions about cycle length and ovulation timing.
Why is a day 5 transfer calculated differently from a day 3 transfer?
The embryo's age at transfer is subtracted from the standard 266 days counted from conception. A day 5 blastocyst is already 5 days old at transfer, so only 261 more days are added. A day 3 embryo is 3 days old, so 263 more days are added.
Can this calculator confirm my exact due date for medical purposes?
No. This calculator gives a general estimate based on standard clinical conventions. Your fertility clinic or doctor will confirm your due date, typically using an early ultrasound, which is considered the most accurate dating method.
